Sheremet died July 20, 2016 in Kiev

In Kiev will be the square of a name of the deceased journalist Pavel Sheremet. This was reported by press service of the Department of ecology and natural resources of Kyiv city state administration in Facebook.

“The permanent Commission of the Kyiv city Council on environmental policy unanimously supported the draft decision on the establishment of the Park named journalist Pavel Sheremet. A square will appear on the plot at the intersection of Reitarska and Musketeers. The procedure of land must first obtain the status of the Park and after that a new Park will be named”, – stated in the message.

Land plot in the Shevchenkivsky district of Kiev chose to negotiate with the family of the journalist, said in KCSA.

Sheremet died July 20, 2016 in Kiev in the explosion of a car belonging to the co-founder of the edition “Ukrainian truth”, the civil wife of the journalist Alena Pritula.

The Prosecutor’s office qualified the incident as a premeditated murder committed by a method dangerous to the lives of many people.

In September 2017 it became known that the national police of Ukraine to classify all decisions of the courts on the case of murder.

The Prosecutor General’s office reported that the investigation is considering four versions of the motives for the murder Sheremet: professional activities, personal hostility, destabilization of the situation in Ukraine, the murder by mistake (instead Prytula).

On 20 July, the Deputy head of the national police Vyacheslav Abroskin said that “the man who may be involved in the murder Sheremet, installed but not identified.”
