In response to the actions of the administration of U.S. President Donald trump Canada, followed by the response of the European Union duties on American goods, imposed retaliatory tariffs on steel and aluminium from USA.

1 July 10-percent tax is imposed on more than 250 kinds of American goods.

Duties on steel and aluminum will be 25% and 10% respectively. Canada also imposed tariffs on American whiskey and motor boats from the United States. The total amount of new taxes will amount to about 16 billion canadian dollars.

At the same time, the government of Canada announced a grant aid package for the domestic industry and intention to seek new markets for their own steel and aluminum products.

As you know, the U.S. Department of Commerce may 31, as expected, announced the introduction of duties on import of steel and aluminum from Canada, Mexico and the European Union. Fees – 25% for steel and 10% aluminum. Already on 1 June, these rates have begun to act.
