Local authorities in Ukraine on the background of the cold snap should make decisions on the date of the beginning of the heating season. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister – Minister of regional development, construction, housing and utilities Gennadiy Zubko during a selector meeting on preparation for the heating season.

“It is very important that everything is clearly understood: there is no Central tap, which includes heating in Kiev or at the Central level. Today, the crane, which includes heating, releases the funds, sign the contract, sets tariffs, is at the municipal level. I appeal to the mayor with a serious requirement to monitor the temperature on the street,” said Zubko.

He reminded that, according to the forecast, the average daily temperature is below 8 degrees Celsius is expected in mid-October, the social objects at a temperature level in the room is less than 16 degrees need to be connected to the heating.

“Social objects: hospitals, children’s institutions at the level of less than 16 degrees inside the room should be on request connected to the heating, not waiting for an outside temperature less than eight degrees,” said Zubko.

Earlier, Zubkov warned that the heating season in Ukraine may start earlier than planned.

Last year the heating season began October 5 and ended on April 15.
