Umer: Ukraine will have to carry out lustration of local authorities in the Crimea in accordance with the law on collaborators

Ilmi umer: the Russian authorities do not care about the future of the Crimea, and about their own short-term interests

Russia does not develop all the neighbors, may reach, and do not care about the future of the occupied Crimea. This was stated by the Deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov in an interview to the edition “Crimea.Realities”.

“Of course, now there are building bridges, roads, kindergartens, but it is only a pretext for kickbacks. The Russian authorities do not care about the future of the Crimea, and their own short-term interests,” he said.

The Deputy head of the Majlis added that the Ukrainian government after the liberation of Crimea will have to deal with the consequences of the occupation.

“Ukraine, of course, have to deal with the consequences. In particular, the lustration of local authorities in accordance with the law on collaborators, which should be taken before the de-occupation of the Peninsula”, – summed up dead.

Russia annexed the Crimea and Sevastopol after the military blockade of Ukrainian military units and illegal referendum on 16 March 2014. The annexation of Crimea by Russia is not recognised by Ukraine and most countries of the world.
