Umer: the Peninsula together with Ukraine should integrate into Europe, to flourish

In the process of reconstruction works of the Khan’s Palace in Bakhchisaray is deprived of its authenticity, said the Deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov in an interview to the edition “Crimea.Realities”.

“I’m worried about the Khan’s Palace, which is deprived of authenticity in the so-called Russian reconstruction. You need to apply to all international organizations to stop it. As to the economy, it puts Russia in the Crimea only state money, with investments there now bad. The Peninsula, together with Ukraine should integrate into Europe to thrive”, he said.

Russia annexed the Crimea and Sevastopol after the illegal referendum on 16 March 2014.

In November 2017, the Ministry of culture of Ukraine expressed outrage of large-scale works, which carried out the occupation authorities of the Crimea to the Khan’s Palace. The Agency appealed to UNESCO and the international centre for the study of conservation and restoration of cultural property.

Activist, former head of the Committee of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea for interethnic relations and deported citizens of Edem Dudakov announced in December that during the restoration of the Russian company destroyed the beams of the Khan’s Palace.
