Ukrainian Igor Glavan remained without world championship medals in athletics, although he was close to it.

In race walking for 50 km among men Igor Glavan finished fourth, losing to two Japanese – Hiroaki Arai and Kai Kobayashi – about 20 seconds. The distance he covered in 3:41.11.

Since the beginning of the race Glavan went at their pace, letting the group leader, and after 25 km accelerated and began to clear the backlog from the medal positions. After 40 kilometers Glavan came in fourth place, but to get two Japanese walkers have failed.

Glavan failed to break the record of Ukraine in this view, which he set at the 2013 world Championships in Moscow (3:40.39). Then he, too, took fourth place.
