Ukraine regained the volumes of gas transit to Europe after they fell by 23% due to the explosion in the gas hub in Baumgarten, Austria. This was reported by “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to the Advisor to the Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Maxim Beliavsky.

“Ukraine has restored the mode of transit gas the previous days. As of the moment, the movement of gas under the national gas transportation system to European consumers at the level of 260 million cubic meters daily in the recount,” he said.

On the morning of December 12 in the village of Baumgarten in the Austrian municipality Weiden an der March, an explosion occurred at a gas compressor station of OMV. Killed one person, injured 21.

The incident affected the supply of Russian gas to Croatia, Italy and Slovenia.

Gas transit through Ukraine decreased by 23% – up to 200 million cubic meters per day.
