The government of the Russian Federation has nominated former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder to the post of the independent Director “Rosneft”. The corresponding order Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on August 10, published on the website of the Russian government.

The name Schroeder is among the four candidates for the positions of independent Directors. The number of seats on the Board of Directors of the company will be increased from 9 to 11, the press service of the Russian government.

The increase of the Board of Directors of “Rosneft” shareholders must approve the September 29. Now three of the nine Directors are independent. If the composition of the Board will increase to 11 people, you will need to introduce one more independent Director to comply with the Statute, reported RBC with reference to sources in the Russian government and Rosneft.
