Germany still undecided in the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions. This was stated by the representative of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Germany, reports “German wave”.

He called the debate on the introduction of new restrictions “somewhat hasty” and noted that “sanctions are not a water tap, which opens and closes as needed”.

Press Secretary of the Federal government Steffen Seibert reminded that the introduction of new sanctions against the Kremlin is only possible with the approval of all European Union countries.

Seibert said that the German government has rejected the appeal of the Ukrainian Ambassador Andrew Miller to step up pressure on Russia and to send German warships in the Black sea. According to the representative of the government, sending German ships to the coast of the Crimea is not planned, because Germany is seeking from the parties to the conflict “restraint and reduce escalation”.

The press Secretary urged Russia to release Ukrainian sailors return to Ukraine of the captured ships and noted that from the German point of view, there is no justification for the use of military force in this case.

He added that Germany supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as the rights of navigation in the Kerch Strait.
