The European investment Bank (EIB) has provided the government of Ukraine a long term loan with low interest in the amount of 200 million euros in Emergency credit program for the country’s reconstruction. It is reported by Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, 23 may.

Funds are used to invest in the rehabilitation of key infrastructure in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as ensuring proper living conditions for internally displaced persons, – is spoken in the message.

The program is distributed in government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, neighboring Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv region and the city councils of Kiev, Odessa, Poltava and Kherson regions with the large influx of internally displaced persons.

For sub-projects in Donetsk and Luhansk regions loan payments are carried out entirely from the state budget, sub-projects in other areas include the contribution from the local budget.

By may 2019, the government selected the 293 sub-project with a total cost of 3.25 billion UAH, in particular the repair of medical institutions, schools, kindergartens, residential and public buildings.

Earlier it was reported that the EIB will join aid to the Ukrainian threatens the sea of Azov. The Bank is going to give money to repair the roads connecting Mariupol, Zaporozhye, Berdyansk and Nikolaev.
