The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has decided to forcibly collect with “Gazprom” almost 172 billion UAH

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) 11 APR 2017 sent to the State Executive service statement about opening of enforcement proceedings enforcement proceedings with Gazprom (Russia) fines and penalties in the amount of UAH 171.9 billion. A copy of the document, the head of AMKU Yury Terentyev has published today on his page in Facebook.

In January 2016 AMKU has fined “Gazprom” on the 85 billion UAH for abuse of a monopoly position in the market of transit of natural gas Ukraine. “Gazprom” tried to challenge this decision, but it was several times confirmed by the Ukrainian courts.

22 February 2017 Kyiv economic court of appeal once again upheld the lower court on confirmation of the penalties from “Gazprom” of a fine, which has grown to well over 172 billion UAH at the expense of penalties for his failure to pay.
