Researchers from Federal Institute of aquatic science and technology Switzerland believe that the water system of the country every year leaked up to 43 kg of gold. About it reports Bloomberg with reference to the study Institute where we studied the efficiency of water purification.

The loss is estimated at $1.8 million.

The highest concentration of gold is recorded in the Canton of Ticino. Scientists attribute this to the large number of mining plants in the area.

Also in the wastewater found three tons of silver, valued at approximately $1.7 million.

The Agency noted that Switzerland accounts for about 70% of the world’s processing of gold.
