Poland expects U.S. support for filing a complaint against Russia in the international court of justice foreign Minister

Poland intends to file a complaint against Russia to the international court of justice in the Hague in the case of the Smolensk catastrophe and expects the support of the US. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski during a meeting with U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson, reports Gazeta Polska Codziennie.

“Invaluable would be the diplomatic support the United States. We are talking about the possibility to exert pressure on the Kremlin. Because for the past seven years, we are not able clearly to identify the causes of this tragedy,” – said Waszczykowski.

About the possibility of filing complaints for investigation, including the European court of human rights in Strasbourg, and initiate proceedings against Russia for what she refuses to return seized property of Poland (the wreckage of the presidential Tu-154M), Minister Waszczykowski said in an interview with PAP in November 2015.
