Nye on the consideration of the bill on the anti-corruption court: there Will be great scandals

Adoption of the draft law on the establishment of an anti-corruption court in Ukraine may be delayed. On 12 January the TV channel “112 Ukraine”, said MP from the Bloc Poroshenko Mustafa Nayem.

“My prediction is – we will not pass this bill quickly. There will be great scandals. Moreover, it has already a number of comments from influential experts, including overseas. I think it will last long, even if it is accepted, will sign it immediately,” said he.

Nye added that have not yet adopted the law on the anti-corruption court, it is necessary to organize the work of anti-corruption bodies.

Thus, according to him, in contrast to the anti-corruption court, the establishment of the State Bureau of investigation is very fast.

“I really wonder why we have lawyers, attorneys, prosecutors, the public, activists do not pay attention to it. There procedure of recruitment prescribed in such a manner now that it is no problem to create this on. The problem is that we’ll get another monster with a club, who will investigate the case of officers, non-corruption and service crimes involving NABOO, the SBU, the GPU. It is a body that will investigate the crimes of the current President, when he will retire or when you leave office,” explained Nye.

9 October 2017, the Venice Commission criticized the Ukrainian bills No. 6011 (attribution Deputy speaker Oksana Syroid (independent), MPs Yegor Sobolev (Samopomich), Ivan Krulko (Batkivshchyna), Sergey Leshchenko, Svetlana Zalishchuk and Nayem (Block Poroshenko) and No. 6529 (representative of the bloc of Petro Poroshenko Sergey Alekseev) on the establishment of anticorruption courts in Ukraine. Both initiatives since withdrawn from the Verkhovna Rada.

22 December the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has submitted to Parliament a draft law No. 7440 “On Higher anti-corruption court.”

The creation of a specialized anti-corruption court is one of the obligations which Ukraine undertook before the international partners – the European Union and the International monetary Fund.

In the present case, investigated by the National anti-corruption Bureau, examines the Solomensky district court, because in this area there is office. Director of the NABU Artem Sytnik noted that the courts often delay business Bureau.

The law on the State Bureau of investigation was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 12 Nov 2015 and is part of the so-called package of a visa-free laws. The President signed it in January 2016, and March 1, the law came into force.
