Lyashko: Martynenko acted like a real man and politician

The fate of the former people’s Deputy from “popular front” Mykola Martynenko must decide fair trial. The head of the Radical party Oleg Lyashko wrote on his page in Facebook.
“Blame Martynenko or not in crimes incriminated to it – the court must establish, I hope that he will be fair and will be fair judges, because we know a lot of opposite examples,” – said Lyashko.
“But clearly Martynenko acted like a real man and a politician, when for the first time in Ukrainian history had voluntarily resigned the parliamentary mandate and was not hiding from the investigation. An example for many of the eunuchs in the Parliament who hold the mandate as a louse for housing”, he added.

According to the head of the Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office of Nazar Golodnitsky, Martynenko could face up to 12 years of imprisonment.
Martynenko was detained in the evening of 20 April. He announced the suspicion of committing crimes under part 1 of Art. 255 (creating criminal organization), part 5 article 191 (assignment, waste of property or taking to them by abuse of official position) the Criminal code of Ukraine. Former MP suspected of abuse in the execution of the contract of purchase and sale of uranium concentrate to SE “VostGOK” across the Austrian intermediary company Steuermann.
Martynenko resigned in December 2015, said he intends to “focus on evidence in the legal field his innocence to any abuse.”
