In the Kerch Strait resumed shipping stopped due to mounting arch bridge

In the Kerch Strait to Crimea lifted the ban on shipping, installed during the offshore installation of the arch of the bridge. This is stated in the order of the acting captain of the port “Kerch”.

Initially, the traffic was closed for 72 hours – until 6.00 on October 14, but in connection with the early completion of installation of arch bridge issued a new order.

On 12 October, in occupied to the Crimea established road the arch to the supports of the bridge Kerch. For mounting design weight of approximately 5.5 thousand tonnes were used 12 device with a lifting capacity of 650 tons.

Kerch bridge length of 19 km will become the longest in Russia. It is built at the expense of the Federal budget. The total project cost is around 228 billion rubles (nearly $4 billion).

On 29 September the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed to sue Russia because of the environmental damage from the construction of the Kerch bridge.

In response, the Minister of ecology of Russia Sergey Donskoy said that the construction of the bridge does not harm the marine ecosystem.
