1January 3, activists of the South African organization “Fighters for economic freedom” staged a protest in the H&M stores because of advertising with the black boy, which they considered racist, reports the local edition of EWN.

Protests were held in shopping malls of Sandton City, East Rand Mall and Menlyn Mall.

Activists have stated that they intend to burn the store in Sandton City, they built there a pogrom.

Some H&M stores in the Gauteng province had to be closed.

In campaign H&M used a photo of a black boy in a hoodie with the inscription “the coolest monkey in the jungle”.
