Prices in Ukraine have risen because it has become an exporting country. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in the air “5 channel”.

“We have no preconditions for price growth. We had the growth of prices for vegetables, as the country did not have sufficient harvest. Prices went up because we started to be a country-exporter. As for meat, you know that there were African swine fever (African swine fever. – “GORDON”), so the price began to rise. But now we see a decrease in the price of pork. In October–November it will be observed. But our goal for 2018 is to create mechanisms of accumulation and meat in the country, and we can do it… In 2018 we will make a breakthrough,” he said.

June 7, Ukraine abolished state regulation of prices for food products.

The state statistics service on 9 October reported that since the beginning of 2017 consumer prices in Ukraine grew by 10.2%. Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages from the beginning of the year increased by 13.7%.

The National Bank of Ukraine on 6 July predicted that inflation will remain at 9.1% in 2017 and 6% in 2018. On 10 July, the NBU admitted that the real level of inflation by the end of 2017 will be higher than expected.

The world Bank forecasts inflation in Ukraine at the level of 10% in 2017.
