During the execution of the planned flight over the sea of Sulawesi crashed American fighter-bomber F/A-18E from the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson. This was reported by the press service of the 7th fleet of the US Navy.

The fighter pilot managed to eject, it was picked up by the rescue team.

“The incident happened when the F/A-18E, part of the Airrier Wing 2 was landing on the Carl Vinson. Currently the incident is being investigated. The pilot examines the medical team on Board… at the moment no obvious injuries”, – is spoken in the message.

The aircraft performed a scheduled flight during the passage of the carrier through the Celebes sea.

Carl Vinson, along with several warships of Japan is a part of the American strike group heading for the Korean Peninsula to demonstrate the presence in the region.

On April 14, the TV channel NBC, citing a source in American intelligence reported that the US is ready to make a preemptive strike on North Korea to prevent another nuclear test by Pyongyang.
